Ernest Montford on Blogger: A Brief Overview of the CIMA Certification Program

About Ernest Montford

An alumnus of the University of Georgia with a BBA, Ernest Montford served as a vice president and branch manager for E. F. Hutton & Co. early in his career. In 1989, Ernest Montford established his own investment firm, Montford Associates.

Over the next 23 years, Mr. Montford functioned as not only his firm’s CEO, but also its client liaison, lead marketer, personnel director, and public relations officer. With a wide range of clients, including schools, religious organizations, and corporations, he had more than $1 billion in assets under management by 2010. Two years later, he decided to close the business and retire.

Although Mr. Montford has leveraged his considerable investment experience to advise a few clients in the intervening years, he has nevertheless grown restless and would therefore like to play a more active role in business. In the meantime, he will continue to enjoy his hobbies, including traveling, writing short stories, hiking, and fly fishing.
